Summer 2018 Is past the Halfway Point – Time to Think about Heating System Maintenance

Heating system maintenance

Believe it or not, Summer 2018 is more than half over – which means it’s time to get serious about maintaining your heating system for the fall and winter ahead.

Once we hit Labor Day, our maintenance calendars start to fill – which means it will get harder and harder to find just the right appointment time to fit into your busy schedule. Why not get your heating service of the way now?

Here are three things you can do for your heating system in the weeks to come:

  1. Schedule a tune-up – Getting your routine maintenance for your heating oil- or propane-fired heating equipment out of the way in the summer means you’ll enjoy more comfort and better efficiency from day 1 of the heating season. It also gives you time fix any problems that might arise (see #2 below) without the threat of cold weather hanging over your head. And if you discover that your heating system needs to be replaced, you’ll still have plenty of time to get it installed (see #3 below).
  2. Repair any lingering problems – Heating systems got a real work out here in Southern Maine and New Hampshire last year – chances are yours will need a little TLC before getting back to work this fall. Our skilled technicians will spot any obvious fuel leaks, broken parts, duct leaks, or other repairs that will need attending to during your heating system tune-up.
  3. Upgrade your heating system – If you’ve been thinking about investing in a new heating system for your Seacoast-area home, summer is a great time to do it – prices are usually lower, technicians and appointment times are often available, and you’re not under any pressure from Mother Nature to get your heating equipment installed.

If your heating system is entering its second decade of use, an upgrade to your furnace or boiler could help you save 30 percent on your monthly bills – enough to offset the cost of the upgrade in just a few years, while giving you better performance and more peace of mind in the meantime.

Labor Day is only a few weeks away – schedule your heating system maintenance, repair, or installation with a P. Gagnon & Son pro today!
