Kent Davis
Started in the business by wearing the uniforms, painting oil and propane tanks, and threading pipe for his Dad and Grandmother in the late 70’s. He has learned the difference between working for a family owned business and a family operated business. Just because a family owns a business doesn’t mean they take care of their customers like they are family. That is one of main reasons Kent has worked for the Gagnon Family since 2006. The Gagnon’s both treat their employees and customers like extended family and operate their business with the same vision. Kent’s number one role is customer retention as he considers it an honor to visit with our current customers and sign up new folks and serve them with the best products in the industry matched with excellent support and service. Kent’s longevity in the industry equips him with a vantage point of seeing what works and what doesn’t from a management perspective, a technician’s view, and from our customer’s standpoint. Kent is our heating oil salesman and focuses too, on liquid oil sales and protecting our customers with oil pricing. Kent’s family has been born and bred in Eliot and they all have a special affection for the Seacoast area. Kent considers it a privilege to be able to work in his “homeland” every day of the week. Kent and his wife live in Eliot, serve their local church in Eliot, and find joy in helping local residents by serving Kittery’s Fuel and More Board, Incorporator of Kennebunk Savings, and State of Maine and Eastern Region Advent Christian Association of Churches.

Customer feedback is very important to us. In fact, it’s the most valuable tool we have to help ensure that we are “getting it right” for you. We’re very proud of the high ratings we have earned on customer-review sites such as Google, and on our own Facebook page. But we don’t rest on our laurels, and we are continually looking for ways to make your life easier.
We know that we are not perfect, and that we may at some point have done something (or not done something) that disappointed you. If this is the case, please contact us right away, and we will do everything we can to make things right again.
We want other people to know what you think of us, so please take a few minutes to post a review on our Facebook page or on your favorite review site. And rest assured that this winter, and all year long, P. Gagnon & Son is here for you — because your comfort is our concern.
Warmly,
Mark Gagnon President
If you are lucky, you haven’t had to call on P. Gagnon & Son for an emergency heating call in the past few years. But we’re sure it’s nice to know that if you ever do have a problem, even on the coldest day of the year, you can count on us to be there for you.
This is one of the most important ways we set ourselves apart from other fuel companies in the area, but, of course, it’s not the only one. We also offer service plans to save you money and protect your heating and cooling equipment; price-protection plans to guard you from fuel-price hikes; conversions to propane heating systems performed by our own expert technicians; and so much more.
We have been helping our customers weather New England winters for more than 110 years, and we are more committed than ever to your comfort.
So the next time you’re online, please click the blue customer-review bubble at the bottom of our page to see what our customers have been saying about us — and while you’re there, why not post a review yourself?Thank you!
This is the time of year when you want to stay comfortable, avoid problems and save money. To help you keep from getting lost, we offer a few tips.
smooth road ahead for oil and propane
The oil heat industry continues to undergo a revolution that is significantly improving oil heat’s efficiency and cleanliness, thanks to vast reductions of sulfur levels.
As a result, heating oil burns more cleanly, with lower emissions. You also benefit from better heating efficiency and easier maintenance, since low-sulfur oil creates fewer deposits on heat exchangers.
This is only the beginning. The quality of heating oil will get even better in the years ahead. And that’s good news for the environment — and for your pocketbook.
Meanwhile, propane use continues to grow because it is one of the cleanest, efficient and most versatile fuels around. This American-made energy source can be used to power appliances inside and outside your home. Plus, more businesses are using propane Autogas to fuel their vehicles, instead of more expensive diesel or gasoline.
Propane really does improve your quality of life, whether it’s fueling stoves, clothes dryers, gas generators, pool heaters, water heaters or heating your entire house!
up ahead: tankless water heaters
The average household uses about 65 gallons of hot water each day. Are you paying more than you should to keep all that hot water flowing? Do you keep running out? If you had a tankless propane water heater, you wouldn’t have to worry about this. Here’s why.
Lower bills. By operating only when hot water is needed (and not using a pilot light), a tankless system will cut your monthly bills — sometimes by as much as 40%!
Unlimited hot water. Imagine never running out of hot water in the shower — even if the dishwasher and washing machine are running!
Easy fit. Tankless systems can be wall-mounted; these units are about the size of a suitcase, which means we can put them in crawl spaces, attics, closets and other tight spaces.
More value for your home. A tankless water heater will improve your home energy rating system (HERS) and LEED scores, which adds more value to your home.*
We will be glad to give you advice and answer your questions about your options in water heaters!
* HERS is a nationally recognized system for inspecting and calculating a home’s energy performance. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a green building certification program.
your destination: comfort and savings
With all that you have to deal with during the winter, the last thing you want is to lose sleep over concerns that your old furnace or boiler is going to conk out and leave you and your family cold.
When you purchase a new high-efficiency oil or propane heating system, you’ll immediately eliminate those worries.
You’ll save a lot of money down the road too. A new system should help you save up to 20% on your annual heating costs. If you significantly improve system efficiency by upgrading from a really old system to a high-efficiency unit, your savings could be 40% or more!
You’ll feel the difference in comfort. And you’ll also save on repairs, because you’ll minimize the potential of a breakdown, which is a common problem with older systems.
Today’s oil and propane heating systems are clean, green and extremely economical.
We can help you determine which system is just right for your energy needs. Contact us today and we’ll be happy to help.
tips to avoid a bumpy ride
We want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your heating system. We’ve provided a few tips here on how to keep it running safely and efficiently.
Keep the area around your system as clean and clutter-free as possible. Never store anything flammable near your system.
Change or clean the filters in your furnace about once a month. A dirty filter compromises efficiency and can even result in a shutdown.
After a storm, clear any snow or ice from your propane tank and its components. Inspect the outside air vents to ensure that there is no blockage.
Keep a path open to your oil fill pipe and clear your driveway after a storm so our driver can reach your tank.
If you ever smell gas, leave your home right away. Report the problem from another location as soon as possible.
Propane is perhaps the most versatile of all fuels, you can use it to heat your home and your patio, cook your meals, produce hot water or put a glow in your fireplace. Propane is very practical, to say the least, and — thanks to robust domestic production — very plentiful as well.
Propane gas is easy and safe to transport because it gets compressed into a liquid. We have our own on-site bulk storage tanks, which means there’s always plenty of propane for you here at P. Gagnon & Son. You’ll never have to worry that we will run short, or that there will be any interruption in your supply.
With winter now in full swing, we want you to know that P. Gagnon & Son has your back, and we are always on call for you with prompt, professional fuel deliveries and expert equipment service.
The majority of our customers receive their propane by automatic delivery. This means they never have to remember to go to the tank, check the fuel level and call us for a delivery in time to avoid running out of fuel.
Running out can be a major inconvenience. If you use propane for heat, you run the risk that your house might get so cold before we are able to make a delivery that your pipes could freeze and you would have a whole new set of (expensive) problems.
When you run out of propane, we must gain access to the inside of your home to perform a pressure leak test on your propane lines. This is a mandatory safety procedure, and you will be charged for a service call. If you want to avoid this risk and the headaches that come with it, please call us today to request our convenient automatic delivery service.
Community involvement is a big part of who we are at P. Gagnon & Son. One great example of this is our participation in Fire Prevention Week at local elementary schools.
In October, the program was run by Adam Leach, a P. Gagnon & Son employee and South Berwick volunteer firefighter. Adam is following in the footsteps of his dad, Mark Leach, our operations manager. Mark oversaw the program for many years.
If your child knows how to “stop, drop and roll,” the chances are good that they first learned it from either Mark or Adam.
