At PGagnon & Sons, we’re always looking for ways to help you save money on your energy bills – whether it’s through our great service plans, discounts on equipment, or high value heating oil and propane delivery.
But sometimes the smallest things can make a difference in your bills – something as small as, say, a light bulb.
If you’ve ever wondered how much you’d save by swapping out your incandescent bulbs for their CFL or LED equivalents, wonder no longer: Efficiency Maine has created an online calculator to tell you exactly what keeping old fashioned light bulb in place will cost you over the course of a year (as a participating contractor in the Efficiency Maine program, we can also vouch for their many of their other great available online resources, too).
Here’s an example: If you run ten 60-watt light bulbs four hours a day for the year, you’ll spend $116.33 more per year on your energy bills with incandescent bulbs than you would with LEDs. That’s more than enough to pay for all the replacement buibs in the first year, and with LED lifespans spanning decades rather than hours, you’ll enjoy that savings for years to come.
Check out the calculator today and see how you can start saving right now.
