As a community-minded company, we’re committed to supporting local charitable organizations.
Several of our employees are volunteer firefighters; we have two fire chiefs, a deputy chief and a lieutenant on our staff. When they are needed to respond to a fire emergency during work hours, we let them go—no problem.
P. Gagnon & Son employees also participate in organizations and activities supporting the arts, youth sports and other community projects. Every October, we can always be counted on to donate candy for the South Berwick Halloween Parade. We also support the Marshwood High School district-wide musical (MSAD #35).
Each year we take part in the Pan Massachusetts Challenge (PMC) and its fundraising bike-a-thon. In 2007, the PMC donated 100% of every dollar raised to cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Another community organization that is especially important to us is the Great Works Regional Land Trust, which raises money for land preservation in the Seacoast area. We’ve pledged $5,000 over the next five years for this important project.
One example is The Mount Agamenticus to the Sea Conservation Initiative (MtA2C). The goal is to preserve 48,000 acres across six towns in southernmost Maine, between the Tatnic Hills of Wells and Gerrish Island in Kittery Point.
These are just a few examples. Other local organizations we have supported over the years include: |
